Relaxation Meditation For Mind Body And Soul

Life can be very stressful and harsh at times. This feels true for most of us because we've experienced it. We do the 9-5 job routine, followed by the countless chores at home, gardening work and activities with the kids. Sometimes it seems like a cycle that will never let-up or slow down. Well, it's not like your life regimen is going to change overnight. Chances are you're going to be stuck in the same muck tomorrow. All you can do is take it one step at a time. Actually that's not completely true. There are things you can do to relax your mind, body and soul. Ever heard of relaxation meditation? If your response is no, then you have now. It's time to calm the senses.


I first encountered relaxation meditation when I was in junior high school. Keep in mind this was back in 1989. So this concept is definitely not brand new by any means. It was around a long time before that as well. Anyway, I came home from school one day and spotted my father lying on his bed. He was listening to a relaxation meditation tape that his chiropractor recommended to him. I thought it was completely bizarre. But naturally i had to inquire all about it out of shear curiosity. He informed me that relaxation meditation was meant to clear your thoughts and allow your body and mind to be at peace for at least a small amount of time. My father said he liked to listen to the tape and go into a sort of trance, which seemed to energize him. He claimed that the voice on the tape was in total control if you allowed it to be. So if the relaxation meditation tape instructed you to go to sleep and told you to awaken in an hour you would. You mind would comply with the instructions like a sort of hypnotism. You could make your body feel like that hour of sleep was 12 hours. Naturally I was very skeptical of this practice.


You can dabble in relaxation meditation with the assistance of a CD or DVD now days. Of course you can also attend a more professional atmosphere, but it's not imperative to see results. Much regarding this ritual has to do with your mind being open. If you're ready to comply and simply relax, you can achieve enlightenment of mind, body and soul. So much is capable if we let our minds accept.
